Update

For those of you who don't already know, Trent's thesis is taking longer than we had expected. Trent will be moving into a house on campus in a few weeks and I will be heading back home to Utah. We both envisioned leaving this island together but unfortunately that is not how things worked out. Even though this is not what we had planned, I do believe that it is for the best. We have been spending the last few weeks trying to sell all of our stuff and prepare for this transition. Although these last few months have been extremely stressful, it is a relief to finally have a plan.

We will be leaving this Saturday to travel to the Philippines and Thailand for one week, then it's back to work for Trent and back to Utah for me. We have enjoyed this crazy adventure here in Guam, and despite it's many ups and downs we will look back on our time in Guam with fondness and gratitude.

Please bear with me as I say goodbye to a few things that we will miss about our time here, and few things that will gladly say goodbye to.

Goodbye to the frequently empty shelves at our local supermarket and expensive groceries

Goodbye to our cute little friends

Goodbye to the many things that do not work here, the low water pressure and the multiple lines you have to stand in to accomplish one small task

Goodbye to the HIGH gas prices, and high utility bills

To waiting months for your tax returns

Goodbye to all the yummy tropical fruit

Goodbye to the tiny little cloud that can turn the whole sky gray in a matter of seconds resulting in a complete downpour

Goodbye to the tropical storm, tsunami warnings and earthquakes

Goodbye to the many crazy things you will only see here in Guam

To the hot humid weather that I still have not gotten used to

Goodbye our little boonie dogs

Goodbye to spear fishing, snorkeling, and lazy beach days just minutes from our house

Goodbye to the horrible roads and drivers

Goodbye to my Tuscon and the little plant that has been growing on it for the last few months

Goodbye to the many "eyesores" of Guam

GOODBYE to the huge cockroaches, the billions of ants, and the geckos that pop out of nowhere and give you a heart attack

Goodbye to Trent's Papaya Tree

To some of the most memorable holidays

To all of the great friends we met along the way

To some of the friendliest local people we have ever met

To some of the most beautiful sunsets I have ever seen

Goodbye to our apartment that has been our home for the last two years, and to this island that has put so many great opportunities before us that we might have never experienced had we not moved here

Thank you to our family and friends who have sent us endless packages, letters, cards, emails and have supported us every step of the way

AND thank you for not having a typhoon pass over while I was living here :)

Farewell Guahan, until we meet again.....
