Maui Christmas & New Years

Our 2nd Christmas, we left Guam on Monday December 26th, and arrived in Maui in evening on December 25th. It was a little chilly compared to our weather in Guam.

We arrived in Maui a few days before my parents so we rented some bikes and went out exploring. We found a sickly little Cycad, this is the tree that Trent is studying in Guam.

This is the view we got to enjoy everyday from our balcony. It is the beginning of the Whale season in Maui, we could even see them from our balcony.

Haleakala National Park
We woke up bright an early and drove to Haleakala National Park to watch the sunrise. The view was amazing, but it was sooooooo cold and really windy at the top. We left at 5:00 in the morning and it was about a two hour drive to the top. I thought it was totally worth it, I'm not sure if everyone else agreed with me though ;)

Dinner in down town Lahaina at Kimo's

Fishing Trip!
We only caught one Mahi Mahi while we were out but he was huge, 31lbs! My Mom got to reel him in. We headed out at 5 in the morning and got an awesome view of the stars. We also saw Dolphins, and Humpback Whales......it was a great day out on the boat!

Mahi Mahi, and my Mom's chef-like presentation

Old Lahaina Luau

My parents first time snorkeling right outside our hotel.

New Years Eve at Plantation Restaurant. Trenton bought my Mom and I our beautiful lei's, what a gentleman he is :)

Our New Years day breakfast, ozoni and fried fish that Trent speared the day before.

New Years Day we drove the Road to Hana. Trent and my Dad had the pleasure of driving us. It is a really windy LONG road......but we survived it!

Black Sand Beach

Thanks to my parents for our awesome trip to Maui, it was an epic trip!

We came home to Christmas packages from our family. It was like Christmas all over again. We are so fortunate to have such caring family members that are always thinking of us.

2012 is going to be an exciting year for us. Trent will be graduating in May and we will be leaving Guam a few months after that to start a new adventure. Can't wait to see how this year unfolds! Happy New Year!
